On the upper level of a building in the city center, open to the rooftops and flanked by a flowering terrace facing the living area and mingling with the urban greenery of the surrounding landscape, the apartment has undergone an overall renovation that combines revision of the spaces and study of the circulation with the value of custom furnishings, as part of a unified project with a clearly recognizable character. From the details to the overall image, in an ongoing relationship of connections, the design the apartment covers the entire area of one floor of the host building, dividing the layout into specific zones. From the entrance one enters the daytime area, subdivided into a large living room connected on one side to the studio, and on the other to the dining room next to the large kitchen. For these spaces MR has produced and installed custom full-height bookshelves, internal glass doors and a number of iconic furnishings, like the circular dining table placed in a room conceived as a sort of illusory winter garden perched over the rooftops of the city. The walls, featuring a wallcovering with an arboreal motif that adds forceful character to the space, establish a relationship with the treetops outside, framed by the windows. The white kitchen cabinets, also custom-made, crafted and installed by the company, which developed the entire wall system, incorporating ovens and refrigerators, a glass wine cellar, while aligning hanging cabinets and full-height units up to the ceiling. The bedroom zone is accessed from the entrance vestibule by means of a symmetrical door placed in front of the access to the living area. An antechamber leads to the corridor and offers access to the guestroom. The furnishings of the master bathroom has been designed utilizing mirrors as a facing material for the wall with a hidden storage niche and a space for the washstand cabinet, virtually expanding perception of the limited available space.
